It is not uncommon for women who are in the period of menopause find that your waistline is expanding and their ideal body weight is increasingly difficult to maintain.

Although much more common when the metabolic activity is running at its sharpest rate, maturity brings less efficient to burn body fat with less desire to move.

This combination can lead to weight gain during this period, particularly in the waist area. If you are concerned about weight gain during menopause, the good news is that there are a number of lifestyle choices that can be done to win the battle.

Why women gain weight during menopause?

There are a number of factors contribute to weight gain. First, at this stage of life, women tend to have more problems to adopt a regular exercise routine. Whether due to fatigue, stress or lack of time, women in this age range usually do less exercises. This is an unfortunate statistic when you consider that it is precisely in this time of life that we must be attentive to health problems, either heart problems, diabetes and osteoporosis.

All these conditions (and some others too) can be improved with a regular exercise regimen. At that age, your exercise program should include the same elements that when I was younger that is, daily aerobic activity combined with regular strength training.

Another factor in weight gain is the fact that at this stage of life, women tend to consume more calories. Part of the reason for the increased intake could be attributed to hormonal changes that can cause changes in mood, anxiety and depression. You can help fight the urge to nibble training to recognize when it is due to true hunger or stress. I could also make good choices in your eating habits by eating fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains.

Finally at that age your body starts to burn calories more slowly, making it more difficult challenge to maintain your ideal weight with the election of current lifestyle. The reason for this reduction is that the natural aging process causes your body begins to replace fat and muscle burns fat more slowly than muscles. As a result, your metabolism slows, which makes losing weight and keeping it a much greater challenge.

You can fight this trend continuing with their normal physical activity and reducing the daily intake of about 200 calories. You can easily do that if education is to eat only when hungry and also choose healthy foods.
Weight gain need not be inevitable in the process of menopause. With healthy choices and some adjustments to your lifestyle, you can get through this time without the weight gain that some.
